and the avalanche that's lying in wait just beyond my yard gate now

the fir and bramble are eager to block my every single step
and this nauseating feel i get from every other quest
to and fro from every point that's fixed in my own sheepish gaze
and the creeping snowmen mulling over pines trees on my only path home

listen up you creep I'm croaking, if standing on this slope means nothing, I'm sliding down the slope
loosen up my workshy mind, holding down the fort for something, I'm holding down the fort
